Hi all,
I got my raspberry pi and ever since I've been playing with gpio and my breadboard! So I was just wondering whether something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Meccano-Spykee- ... _h_b_cs_11
Could be made into a (wireless? It has IR) robot ?
Just a thought...
Kind regards
George Taylor

Impossible is nothing.
How do you plan to interface to it ?
How would you accomplish infrared communication ?

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org

As ghans says, it really depends on what you want to do with it.

If it is replacing the remote control you'd need to understand the protocol that it used to send the commands.
If that is available (i.e. someone else has done the hard work) you could look to see if you can get some IR leds to flash to send the right commands.

If the protocol isn't available, it isn't impossible, but adds some more complexity.
Have a look here for one ways you could do it ( requires other kit, other methods and guides are available..)

good luck!
