Hi - I had an idea for a web server project, but have had some difficulty finding enough software for it.

The idea would be to take a pi with USB wi-fi dongle for our family trips in the car. The pi would act as a webserver for various games we play in the car - e.g. pub-cricket, travel bingo (e.g. your card has level crossing on it, so when you pass such an item you would mark your card.)

The families phones and home games systems (e.g. ipods, android, 3DS) would be used to browse to the website in order to play.

Has anyone any ideas if such a pack exists, or whether frameworks exist to help build the server.

So , the best way to do this would be from the command line (IMHO) :
Code: Select all
 apt-cache search description

To install :
Code: Select all
 sudo apt-get install packagename

Webservers:
    nginx
    apche2
    lighttpd

Frameworks:
I'm unsure , do you mean
* flask (Phyton)
* cakePHP (PHP)

or do you mean AJAX /HTML5/WebApps ?

Are you really talking about Webservers ?
• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org
