Im looking for a local lan version of dropbox or alternative cloud sync service.

Something open source im gueesing running on the PI allowing my 4 other laptops (windows) to backup and sync. Basically have my own private PI hosted dropbox style of backup / restore / sync that isnt an FTP type of upload/download. I basically have large files that alter so would only want the edits moved not the Gb files each time I edit a small %.

any suggestions?

No personal recommendations, but there might be some interesting suggestions in viewtopic.php?f=30&t=7391 :?:

My thoughts actually came from that thread.... when I realised having a private local version would be extremely beneficial also offering more security and flexibility.

IIRC rsync only offers one-way sync, if you want two-way sync you should look at unison.
