VNC Viewer

I tried a couple of VNC viewers (directvnc and xtightvncviewer) but neither worked the way I want. I wanted to see if there was a vnc client that can connect properly to the VNC service in Mac OS X Lion. This is a multi-user aware screen sharing service, and I connect to my Lion machine from my Snow-Leopard machine by opening a URL in the form:

vnc://mortimer:password@192.168.1.1

The trouble I am finding with the clients I have tried so far is that I am not able to specify the user name, only the standard VNC session password.

Does anyone know of a Linux VNC client which would allow me to connect in the appropriate way, that will also run on a Raspberry Pi?

Maybe Remmina? ( sudo apt-get install remmina )
{sig} Setup: Original version Raspberry Pi (B, rev1, 256MB), Dell 2001FP monitor (1600x1200), 8GB Class 4 SD Card with Raspbian and XBMC, DD-WRT wireless bridge

I couldn't get Remmina to connect at all. I have also tried Gtkvncviewer, which I could get connect, but the supposed "full screen" mode, wasn't it had scroll bars, frame and controls still visible, yuck!

Very strange. Are you tied in to using built in Mac VNC or can you use a third-party solution like http://sourceforge.net/projects/osxvnc/ ?

Because I want to make use of Lion's multi-user screen sharing, I have to use the built in VNC server of the Lion machine.

Were you ever able to get this to work the way you wanted?

I use ssvnc. Easily installed if you're using Raspbian image. I do have a 2-3 second lag though. I need to fix that issue.

Thanks!

There is this noob page on the wiki.

http://elinux.org/RPi_Wheezy_VNC ;)
Noob is not derogatory the noob is just the lower end of the noob--geek spectrum being a noob is just your first step towards being an uber-geek ;)

If you find a solution please post it in the wiki the forum dies too quick
