Share RPi Folder

How can I share an RPi folder on a windows network? So that I can write a file on a windows machine directly to the RPi folder.

Some one with more knowledge than me is sure to come along and correct me on this, but what about SAMBA. Or ftp. May be worth having a look?

Asked the same thing the other day - Bredman gave me that reply and it was spot on - I was able to share files both ways and it was a very painless procedure, with one small exception - there is a bit of a syntax error in the guide which I highlighted in this post:

I also edited the Wiki to add a note to that effect - I'm no expert so I may well be wrong, so hopefully someone else will check my note for accuracy.

Thank you. That worked fine. I don't know about the chmod edit as I didn't do that step.

The two different versions of the chmod command have the same result.

I will change it to your version, except for the fact that o=rx-w would be better written as o=rx.
