I'm happy to report my Pi arrived on schedule with the original estimate sent by Newark when they shipped it last Tuesday. Apparently the UPS tracking number was simply the wrong one.

It boots fine, attached to an LCD monitor via an HDMI->DVI connector. I'm using an Amazon Basics USB power wart, which is rated at 2.0 amps. I'm also using a Kingston 4GB SDHC card that I ordered right after I ordered the Pi on March 1st. It seems to work fine. I'm using a powered USB hub, which is what my keyboard and mouse are attached to. The network does work, but it seems to be extremely slow. I'll have to try to figure that out next, as even doing a 'get-apt update' said it would take >20 minutes.

My first hacking on the Pi (after attaching a USB hard disk for more room) will be trying to get an emulated VAX system running VMS, using the simh emulator package. I have it running just dandy on x86 Linux, so hopefully with a recompile or package install, I can simply move the various disk images over and fire it up. The VAX has a memory size of 64 megabytes, so it should run in console mode. Perhaps very soon I can telnet into my own $35 + S/H VAX. (I already have the VMS software and licenses, from the DEC->Compaq->HP hobbyist program.) :)

@hazard: Very nice. Happy hacking!

Even after a problem with my credit card, I discovered today that my first Pi has shipped! UPS says I should get it sometime tomorrow, June 6. :D

For the record, I ordered on March 3 and my Order Conf. Number was: 188xxx.

First, I'm going to build a robot that fetches candy and beer!
Then, I'm going to build a steam-punk tablet.
I can't wait!

Just got the Invoice in the email and the charge on the credit card. The UPS shipping number got me info from UPS's site saying that a label had been created. So probably shipping out June 6th. Woohoo, was set to ship June 15th.

I just got shipping confirmation from Newark: my Model B is to be shipped today 6 June 2012. I ordered 4 March 2012. Most recent estimated ship date at newark.com was 14 June 2012.

Better plug in my heater (so much more poetic than "soldering iron") in case I need to touch up X1 :-)

My Pi arrived today, but sadly it will not boot. I get a red power light, but nothing more. :(

A good starting point is the RasPi Troubleshooting wiki page: http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting. If you only get a red power light, it's most likely a power problem or the SD card is faulty or not loaded correctly.

Thanks for the tip! I will start there and rebuild my SD card to begin with. Three different power supplies, all with proper output with no love.

I've got another one coming from RS, so hopefully I will still get to play soon.

That was it! It boots up most times now, but I think the micro SD card and/or the adapter might be wonky.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

I just got an email saying my order has been processed and shipped, which is nicely timed as I had almost sent an email about possibly cancelling to go fund a different project, guess I'll have 3 ARM computer projects going at one time :D

Ordered mine in Canada on March 3 and the expected shipping date after bouncing around had settled down at June 21. Jenny Peters checked a month ago and posted my shipping date as May 25. My order status has now changed today to June 28.

I am getting antsy in the pantsy for this order. I have much to do with it....

Allow me to grumble a bit, though it is a waste of time I'm sure. The website has been saying for the past few weeks June 28th is my shipping date. Checked today, and it is July 5th. I am disappoint.

I'm excited now, mine was shipped June 19th from Element 14 and got to my door a few minutes ago today, June 21. I originally ordered March 12th for reference.

Ordered Mar 3 After having my expected shipping date bumped yesterday from June 21 to June 28 I got an email this morning advising that my order has been shipped :D

Now I just need to figure out who they shipped it with. Order was indicating that shipping would be via UPS but the email (and my order info) now show that it has been shipped by a carrier named "Traffic". I did get a tracking number so will try that with UPS later

I contacted the support team last week with this question, the carrier is Purolator. ;)

Mine shipped out on the 21st as well, and as of 11PM on the 22nd, they were heading towards Calgary from Mount Hope, ON.

I'm very excited. :D

@ KazW Thank you - that did the trick. Although they changed the courier company on my final invoice to CANUPS it is in fact being shipped by Puralator :D
