I know I'm flogging a dead horse here, but just curious if anyone in the US has gotten a ship date from Newark.

I ordered a bit late in the process (about a day after they went live) so just wondering if anyone that "got in early" has gotten a ship date.

I had ordered around 10am on launch day direct from Newark...

Checking my order status, it originally said mid-May.

A couple days later that dropped to Early April, then subsequently March 28.

Then that big system update happened and everyone's Newark order went to like Mid-August.

I just checked my status and it's still showing Mid-August.

I don't think Newark/Farnell has updated their expected ship dates yet.... Maybe we'll get some info next week...

And if you log into your Newark account, and click on the order, to get the details page, that is where the Expected Ship Date will show up... bottom right corner.

I got my order through Newark US at 10:16 AM GMT on 29 February (D-Day, T-plus 4 hours, 16 minutes :) ) and my estimated ship date was somewhere around 28 ~ 30 March until the certification debacle, when it bumped to 16 August and has remained that through now. No e-mails from them since 22 March, just before the certification kerfuffle.

My expected date shows 16-Aug.

I read the updated FAQ on their site today and it said they would update shipping dates in an e-mail directly to customers as units became available. Was curious if anyone had gotten one of those e-mails yet.

My order was placed 3/3/12 10:05 AM

Negative here... No update via email... Mind you, they (Farnell) only JUST got their first 1000 (or so) from Eben yesterday or today, and the rest are coming from the fab line directly to Farnell.

Like I said, I expect we'll start seeing updates next week as boards start moving out the door.

I'm similar to the others above.

I ordered on March 2nd. I had a date that said mid-may and then got updated to april 2nd.

Now, of course, it says August 16th just like everyone else.

If anyone hears anything.. let the group know!

I'll be following this thread.

I just finished a chat with a support rep and they said my order would be shipping at the end of the month/beginning of next month.  I ordered on Feb. 29th and had my date end up in mid-august as well.  However, I went ahead and canceled my order and placed an order with RS instead since they expected to ship within 7 working days.

That date from RS can't possibly be right (I hope I'm wrong though).

I also don't trust the date from Newark.. cause it seems like they are always just defaulting to... "oh, your order will ship within a month"

The ONLY way you have a chance in heck of getting it from RS within 7 working days is if you were one of the first to register interest back on Feb 29 and were notified to use your code to log in and order.

On the other hand, if you're JUST NOW trying to order from RS, you're WAY at the end of the line and have no chance in getting it in 7 working days...

Nah, they're just doing that right now until they get some stock. It's a "CYA" move on their part. Chances are, you'll get it way before then. (probably more like June/early July)...

Here's an update I got from a chat with support at Newark yesterday:

Marc: Once the compliance
testing is complete we will then have a clearer idea about our future
deliveries and we will confirm accurate delivery dates.

Marc:
Apologies again for any  confusion this action has caused.

Marc: Update
– The test has been completed as of 4/8/12. We are now waiting for an update by
the manufacturer. Our England warehouse received some product for deliveries in
Europe. Shipping dates to the USA have not been determined yet. Hopefully soon!

I ordered March 2nd and my status still says Back Ordered.....

Maybe I should have used that code from RS since I applied pretty early?

Anyone know when Farnell/Element is shipping?

Several folks popped into the IRC channel last night mentioning that they got shipment info from Newark.

My order was placed at about 10am (eastern) on the 29th. The latest order of the two that were mentioned was about a 9am (eastern) order, and his Order Confirmation Number was about 3300 earlier than mine. Assuming those are the ones

So, I'd say that if you ordered before 9am, you *might* have seen notification of shipment. But so far nobody much after that has reported a change of status. Mine still is showing Aug 15.

Mine is also still saying Aug 15th.  My order confirmation number is 163085.  Anyone know the order confirmation of someone that has received on from Newark?  Here's hoping that batch of 8000 gets reworked soon!

My order confirmation number is 1627xx. My order was placed at 10:38AM EST. Mine is also still showing an August 15th date. How many people successfully placed orders between 10AM and mine at 10:38AM?

I ordered from Newark on 2/29/12 ~9:40 AM Eastern, Note: I actually placed my order then, not "registered my interest". I had "registered my interest" earlier that morning on RS's website around 4am eastern. By 9:30ish eastern Newark's website had the part number already in the system available for order. I did have to use the part number to find it though, as their search system was still overloaded at that time.

My order number is 160### (# replaced for security of my order) and I received a shipping confirmation yesterday (4/17/12) from Newark around 5pm EST, and a UPS tracking number which indicates I should receive my shipment here in Florida on Wednesday 4/18/12, it shipped from somewhere in South Carolina via UPS Ground.

Based on what the post above me said, if he placed his order about an hour after mine, and all the orders being placed with Newark were for the RPi, then that's about 2,600 ordered just from 9:40AM – 10:40AM EST!!! That's pretty incredible.

So, people are getting Newark packages? Any Americans?

EDIT: Lol, post above me was American.

I just noticed if that I clicked the PO number link that I am quoted a August 16th. My order number is 186xxx.

I hope we get a better/more accurate estimation date soon. I don't think August is realistic. Isn't a 100k production line coming up in early May? Or am I making up memories?

Yeah, mine was around 10am, and I'm in the 162xxx range...

So about 2000 order confirmations after k3v1nc , and about 100 after
hamjudo  and a couple hundred or so ahead of yours...

It all just depends how many get routed to the USA, and if they're already shipping out units of that 8K remainder or not. If they haven't started in from the 8K, then there's a chance some of us might get one soon, otherwise I'd think we're going to be VERY early into Farnell's "production" run units.

dh04000 - you're probably a bit farther back in the queue based on your order conf number range. So, chances are, you're not going to be in the first batch (just running the numbers here.) But again, based on what Liz has stated about the partners ramping up production to massive levels, I'd be surprised if you're much past the first week of "production units" in...

And, actually, looking at the receipt dates of the emails I got from Newark:

Got the Account creation confirmation email at 10:35 am. (Eastern)

Got the order confirmation email at 12:30 pm. (Eastern)

I'm pretty sure I submitted the order no later than about 10:40am...)

I ordered mine from RS in the UK, and got in on the first batch, last week they took payment and asked where I want it delivered to I am based in both the US and the UK but will be on the east coast for the next few months, so asked them to send it here, and they are, now its just a waiting game on Royal Mail, Customs and USPS.

Interesting, I placed my order at 8:03 AM.  Even though my order confirmation number was in the 1630XX range.  I'm on the east coast (Boston). Seems like the confirmation numbers and times don't match up.

Why is this waiting so painful?

Hey in the meantime I'm having fun building a reprap.  Thought it would be so cool to have the kids I'm going to teach about Raspberry Pi be able to design and print their own cases.

We need a separate reprap builder topic - I know of at least three of us (one a Makerbot). Shows the Pi delays have done some good!

I started a RepRap thread for anyone who has built or is building a RepRap.  Please pop over there and tell me about your 3D printer.  RepRap will be a great complement to the Raspberry Pi for teaching especially robot building.
