Hi, unfortunately no, we only have UK 3 pin versions of the USB Hubs - sorry.

Bought my RPI three weeks ago at NewIT. Worked like a charm two weeks and then stopped working.

I just had time to look at the problem, and it seems the 8GB Kingston flash SC card I bought is already corrupted. I don't think I've done too much I/O on it, probably a bad fabric for this SC card. Looks like I'm alone in this case though, so not very worrying.
I've contacted the support, but I guess it will be cheaper for everyone if I buy a new one here in Sweden instead of shipping back my SD card and getting a new one.

Very fast answers from NewIT by e-mail, in the middle of the week-end, thanks NewIT.

The Kingston 8GB SD card is indeed labelled as unstable on the wiki:
http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals#SD_cards

They have offered to ship me a 16GB instead, which is nice from them. I have declined however because it sounds simpler and fastest to me to buy it from the nearest store (I live in Sweden). They've linked me the above Wiki instead to help me making my choice. And I'm not like to bother for 5 bucks.

Thanks again NewIT.

Great! When my Pi broke I looked at the RS and Farnell sites, read the lead times and nearly decided not to bother.

Nice to see a company stepping up to the plate with some reasonable delivery times :D

Hi!

Why is your shipping price to norway so much higher then RS?
4.95£ vs 25£

Hi
RS are a larger company, and i would think they ship somewhere in the region of 100 times more volume than us a day, so they can command better shipping rates than us. :(

But on the plus side we do have stock on the shelf ready to ship :)

After months of waiting for availability from farnell, a search on google shopping showed NewIT as having stock! Quick search on this forum showed good service and looked reputable. I have to say, great service! My order was shipped within hours on Tuesday and arrived Thurs morning.
Will be ordering more from them in the future.

+1 for service! Ordered Rpi + accessories 9.30pm on Wednesday, parcel has just arrived 10.45 am on Friday. I must resist the temptation to stay playing, as I have a ton of marking to do! I am so excited! :D

I live on the Eastern Coast of the United States and ordered a Raspberry Pi from New IT Oct. 24 and received it yesterday Nov. 2. I would highly recommend New IT because of how fast they ship out their stock to the U.S.

We have updated our shipping prices to Norway, a little cheaper than it was. :)
Most of Europe is £6.50 postage for just a Pi, and £9.50 when you add several accessories.
If your country is not in our drop down list on the shop, then please email us for a price, there are only a couple of countries we are unable to deliver to.

On another note, we have had a lot of calls from schools and universities for HDMI to VGA adapters, and so, we have been testing a few, and finally found one we are happy with.
So we will be stocking HDMI to VGA Active Adapters as of next week, just waiting on the import from Hong Kong, these will be VERY competitively priced, and will allow people and schools to use the Pi on their current VGA monitors.

Hi New IT

Just bought a USB WiFi dongle advertised on your site as an accessory for Raspberry Pi. Having a few issues getting WiFi to work properly. It came with a disc, which I assume, has the dongle drivers on it?? If that is the case how do I get the drivers to load on RPI?

Regards

Hi,

The disc contains Windows drivers and is not required with the pi.
To use the wifi dongle with the pi, insert the dongle, power up the pi and 'startx'. Click on the 'wifi config' icon.

In the description it says: "Supports Soft AP function"

Does that mean I can access a webserver on the Pi from my phone/tablet? And if so how hard is it to configure? (Have trouble getting this to work at the moment with other dongles).

I'm writing this from my newly arrived Raspi. delivered to Germany today after it was ordered from NewIT on the 5th of November. I still have another one ordered from RS, and I guess that by the time it will be shipped, I will have plenty of ideas what to do with my second Pi.

Cheers
